www.INDONESIATRAVEL.NEWS– Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, really gives serious attention to the Lombok earthquake disaster. Tourism Minister monitored the handling of the earthquake crisis in detail.

Tourism Minister is not alone. He was accompanied by the Secretary to the Minister of Tourism Ukus Kuswara and Special Staff for Communication, Don Kardono, and the Deputy Director for Tourism Crisis Management, Dessy Suryaningrat.

“We continue to monitor any developments in the field. Including knowing how the evacuation process is carried out. And whether the victims, as well as tourists are in a safe location. We must be sure that everything goes right, “said Tourism Minister, Arief Yahya.

The review was carried out from the Ministry of Tourism Crisis Center room. Precisely in the Center for Public Communication at the Sapta Pesona Building. From here, Tourism Minister was conducting a Video Conference with stakeholders and the Crisis Center team in Lombok.

Video Conference were held 3 times. Firstly, with the Director of Public Communication, Guntur Sakti and Deputy Director of Regional Marketing II Vinsensius Jemadu, and the Head of West Nusa Tenggara Tourism, M. Lalu Faozal who was in Gili Trawangan.

The second Video Conference was held with the General Manager of the Praya Lombok International Airport, I Gusti Ngurah Ardita. Tourism Minister said that there should be no passenger buildup at Lombok Airport.

“To prevent the increase of passengers waiting list, we ask for help so that the Airport Management can arrange the extra flights. This is to accommodate passengers who want to leave Lombok Island, “he said.

The minister also said that all passengers were handled and facilitated properly with the aim of leaving a good impression on tourists.

While the third video conference was conducted with Henry Noviardi, Lombok Area Head of Marketing 1 Regional 2. As well as to a tourist from Germany.

The German tourist expressed his gratitude directly to the Minister of Tourism in the video call.

In all 3 video conferences, Tourism Minister gave an appreciation to the airport manager, and the Provincial Tourism Office team, as well as all stakeholders present, for assisting tourists and people of Lombok who were affected by the earthquake.

Ministry of Tourism Crisis Center Team focuses on foreign tourists as well as domestic, which are the main target market of the Indonesian Tourism sector. To handle this, Ministry of Tourism has 5 teams that coordinate continuously under the supervision of the Minister.

There are 3 teams working on Lombok Island. The first focuses on Gili Islands, the second one focuses on Lombok Praya International Airport, and the third focuses at the West Nusa Tenggara Tourism Office.

Meanwhile, the Crisis Center Team based at the Sapta Pesona Building continuously monitor all progresses, and the last one is in Bali to help create smooth movement of foreign tourists from Lombok Island. (*)
